Intimate Maui Elopement at the Sacred Garden of Maliko in Makawao, Hawaii

Emily and John wanted to have an intimate elopement ceremony at the beeeaaauuutiful Sacred Garden of Maliko located in Makawao, Hawaii (my home town!). The Sacred Garden is located in a gulch on the north shore of Maui in the lush tropical jungle. There is such a peaceful energy that you can feel when you arrive. We had their ceremony inside the labyrinth along the creek surrounded by big trees and the birds singing above.

The labyrinth has been known to be a spiritual path of pilgrimage that can help you gain clarity in life and a time to send your prayers to the universe. What a special place to exchange your vows and become husband and wife! After their wedding ceremony we went on a little adventure along the coast near Paia to catch the soft sunset light and breathe in the salty ocean air. We dodged cow patties laughing along the way and we were blessed with an incredible moon rising that filled all of us with an incredible amount of joy. Thank you Emily and John for such a special evening and for choosing me to be your Maui Elopement Photographer. It really is a blessing!

Location: Sacred Garden of Maliko
Officiant: Eve Eschner Hogan, Founder of the Sacred Garden

Maui Engagement Photos at Nakalele Point near Kapalua, Hawaii

Northwest Maui is one of my favorite areas to explore with my couples. It offers a rugged beauty that I love. I took Jess and Shaun to Nakalele Point near Kapalua, Hawaii to celebrate their recent engagement and their jaws were dropping at the beauty. Being able to share such special places in Hawaii with my couples fills my heart and soul so much. Nothing makes me happier than watching their excitement while we breathe the fresh tropical air and feel the wind blow through our hair.

Maui Engagement Session in Kapalua, Hawaii

These two love birds flew to Hawaii from New Zealand to escape winter and enjoy the warm, tropical weather. Jordan contacted me a few months prior with secret plans to propose to Jess while they were here. He knew he wanted to surprise her with an adventure session to celebrate afterwards while they were visiting Maui. He proposed to Jess while they were on Kauai hiking along the epic Napali Coastline. Of course, Jess said yes!

This shoot was such a fun adventure. We decided to explore Honolua jungle and Ironwoods beach in Kapalua, so they would have a lot of variety for their photos. Two of the most magical spots on Maui that I just had to share with these two wonderful humans.

They had such a fun energy and sweet chemistry. They truly bring out the best in each other; always laughing, smiling and being silly. One of my favorite aspects of being a Maui wedding and elopement photographer is witnessing true love. I feel like a little girl watching a fairytale every time I'm behind the camera with a new couple. I just love it so much. I am so grateful for this career that gives me the opportunity to meet so many amazing humans from all over the world. It was so fun getting to know these two and I cannot wait to travel to New Zealand and visit them! Thank you Jess and Jordan for such a fun evening and huge congrats on your engagement in Hawaii!!
