Cannon Beach Elopement on the Majestic Oregon Coast

Well shit. I laughed so hard when I saw Erin + Taze’s wedding invites. Brilliant. And accurately expresses what we were all thinking last year. Like many of my couples in 2020, Erin and Taze had originally planned to have a big wedding at home in Texas, but due to the current circumstances they decided to elope in Cannon Beach. It’s one of their favorite locations to visit along the majestic Oregon Coast and the first place they traveled when they started dating.
They flew into Portland and stayed at McMenamins in downtown to enjoy some city life and then headed to the coast the next day. Portland is a foodie lovers paradise and a great place to start your trip in Oregon. I often joke that I eat my way through Portland. There are endless options that offer organic farm to table dishes with a creative twist.
Then they stayed at the Hallmark Resort in Cannon Beach. One of the best places to stay in the area. It’s right on the beach in the heart of town with incredible views of Haystack Rock. They also have an indoor pool with hot tubs and homemade cookies in the afternoon. Ya just can’t go wrong with warm cookies and hot tubs! We started their elopement day with getting ready photos in their hotel room. I love this part of the day. Capturing the sweet moments with family and feeling the anticipation before the ceremony. It’s such a special time. Then we went outside for a first look so they could have a quiet moment together before getting hitched!

After I photographed them getting ready and having a super sweet first look we were off the beach! It was a sunny afternoon on the Oregon Coast. Hallmark Resort is really close to Haystack Rock so it only takes a few minutes to walk to the ceremony spot. An ideal place to stay if you don’t want to do a lot of traveling on your wedding day.

After their ceremony with family and a champagne toast we went for a stroll on the beach to capture some intimate moments with just the two of them. This is such a special time for the bride and groom to enjoy some quiet moments alone and focus on each other.
