Hug Point Engagement Session on the Majestic Oregon Coast
Santhosh and Preethi flew to Oregon from the east coast this spring to have their engagement photos captured on the majestic coastline. Preethi used to live in the Pacific Northwest and she always wanted to have photos taken here with her man. So they decided now was the time! They will be having a traditional Indian wedding once things settle down with the pandemic, so they decided to come to Oregon to celebrate their engagement with epic photos for now!
We met at Hug Point on a lovely afternoon and explored the beaches, caves, and the pretty waterfall cascading onto the beach. This is one of my favorite spots for beach sessions on the Oregon Coast. There’s a lot of room to run around and a variety of backdrops to capture. It’s close to Cannon Beach which is the cutest little town on the Northern Oregon coast and about an hour drive from Portland. There are boutique shops, yummy seafood restaurants, and local breweries all located within walking distance to the famous Haystack Rock beach. It’s a popular area on the weekends but once you visit you’ll understand why.
Some of my favorite surf spots are up there too. There are a few different spots to choose from; one of my favorites is Short Sands Beach because of the beautiful forest trail meandering along a creek and opening up to an incredible beach with surrounding cliffs. It’s a really special area and a must see if you’ve never been!
