Whether it’s on a mountaintop with the wind blowing through your hair, on the beach with your toes in the sand, or maybe its watching the sunrise as it peeks over the horizon. Whatever you’re envisioning I will help you bring your dream to life!

What is an adventure wedding or elopement?

Eloping doesn’t mean secretly running off to the courthouse anymore. It’s an intentional wedding day that is authentically focused on who you are as a couple. It’s an opportunity to create a meaningful experience to begin your journey together as a couple. You may want to say your vows with your intimate family on a mountaintop or have a quiet day with just the two of you with your toes in the sand. It can literally be anything your heart desires! How cool is that?!

FEATURES AND PUBLICATIONS

About the Oregon Coast

With 363 miles of scenic coastline, the wild and rugged Oregon Coast is an ideal elopement destination. From north to south, this diverse coastline boasts pristine sandy beaches, towering sea stacks, and lush green forests.

Along the northern coast, you’ll find vast stretches of beach as far as your eye can see. As you head south towards the central coast, sandy beaches give way to rocky sea cliffs lining the edge of the Pacific. Keep driving and you’ll soon reach the jagged, mountainous terrain of the southern coast. No matter what style you’re going for, the diversity of the Oregon Coast means you’ll have ample elopement locations to choose from.

Weather on the Oregon Coast

Weather along the coast is often cool and wet with much of the rain falling between late October and early May. Spring sees frequent rainfall and temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Summers are nice with warmer and drier days and highs in the 60s and 70s. Often referred to locals as the “second summer,” fall is one of the most beautiful times of year with sunnier, warmer, and calmer days. Winter brings coastal storms with rain, wind, and crashing waves, but at times can bring sunny days with temperatures in the mid-50s.

Getting To The Oregon Coast

The weather in Redwood National Park is often cool and wet with much of the rain falling between October and April. Temperatures are generally consistent year-round fluctuating between the mid-40s and low 60s. Winters are cool and rainy, while summers are drier and warmer.

Explore Oregon’s Sand Dunes – With miles of sand dunes lining the central coast, the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area is an incredible spot to visit. Dune buggy, sled, sandboard, or explore the area by foot.

The best adventure elopement locations on the Oregon Coast

Cannon Beach

Located on the northern Oregon Coast, Cannon Beach offers a diverse landscape of sandy beaches and rugged coastline. Once named one of the world’s most 100 beautiful places by National Geographic, Cannon Beach is in a class all its own. Just over an hour drive from Portland, this scenic coastal village boasts a lively art scene, quaint coffee shops, and cozy seaside restaurants. Home to the iconic Haystack Rock, the towering sea stack stands an impressive 235 feet above the shoreline. Surrounded by stretches of golden beach and shallow tide pools, it truly is a one-of-a-kind setting for an Oregon Coast elopement. Just north lies Ecola State Park, a stretch of rocky coastline with dramatic views of the Pacific. With hidden beaches and old growth forests, the park is an absolutely stunning place to elope as well.

Hug Point

Just south of Cannon Beach lies Hug Point along Highway 101. Its name derived from the stagecoaches that once traveled along the beach during low tide, hugging the sandstone cliffs as they moved up and down the coastline. Today, the area is now a 43-acre state park with jagged cliffs, rock outcroppings, and hidden sea caves. During low tide, the water recedes, uncovering a secluded sandy cove enclosed by staggering seaside cliffs. With epic views of the Pacific Ocean and a stunning landscape, this little cove makes for the most beautiful elopement location.

Cape Kiwanda

A bit further south along the coast, you’ll find Cape Kiwanda located in Pacific City. The natural state area is a part of the Three Capes Scenic Drive, a 40-mile long drive along the Oregon Coast that takes you past Cape Meres, Cape Lookout, and Cape Kiwanda. With an impressive sand dune and towering sandstone cliffs, this place is truly awe-inspiring. The unique textures and rich colors of the rock formations offer a stark contrast to the typical basalt sea stacks and rugged cliffs that characterize much of Oregon’s coast. With dramatic waves crashing along the coastline, the natural beauty of Cape Kiwanda is undeniable.

Heceta Head Lighthouse

Located along the central Oregon coastline and just a 3 hour drive south of Portland, lies Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint. Situated in a cove at the mouth of Cape Creek, the lighthouse dates back to the late 1800s and has since guided mariners along the rocky Oregon coastline at night. The historic white and red-roofed lighthouse stands out against the surrounding lush green cliffside. Perched 205 feet above the ocean, the cliff-top viewpoint offers dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean and neighboring cove. The striking vistas and picturesque scenery make Heceta Head lighthouse the ultimate Oregon Coast elopement destination.

Samuel Boardman State Park

Situated along the southern coast of Oregon, Samuel Boardman State Park makes up 12-miles of untouched, forested coastline. Just north of Brookings, the park is home to 300 year old sitka spruce trees, rugged bluffs, and sandy beach coves. Along the park’s trails, you’ll find plenty of jaw-dropping views and secluded spots for your Oregon Coast elopement. A few of the best places in the park include Arch Rock, Secret Beach, and the Natural Bridges. Surrounded by a majestic forest and unbeatable ocean vistas, Samuel Boardman State Park is full of wonder, making it a dream elopement location for any adventure-loving couple!

FAQS

The Oregon Coast is sprinkled with quaint seaside towns, cozy campgrounds, and plenty of unique and authentic vacation rentals. Some of the best towns to stay in include Cannon Beach, Pacific City, Lincoln City, Florence, and Brookings. A few of my favorite places to stay along the Oregon Coast include:

• Cabin and Yurt Rentals – minimalist cabin and yurt rentals can be found up and down the coast in Oregon’s State Parks

Ramblin Vans – decked out campervan rentals based in Portland offering pick up from the airport

The Stephanie Inn – a boutique luxury oceanfront hotel with views of Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach

Airbnbs & Vrbo rentals – choose from adorable airbnbs like a rustic cabin home with a fire pit in Pacific City, a cozy cliffside guesthouse retreat in Brookings, or a coastal cabin hideaway in Cannon Beach

• Oregon Coast public campgrounds – Beverly Beach State Park, Cape Lookout State Park, and Cape Blanco State Park are popular public campground options along the Oregon Coast (but be aware these fill up fast during peak season)

Make sure to bring along your signed marriage license. If you don’t live in Oregon, you and your partner will need to apply for a marriage license online and visit any of Oregon’s county clerk’s offices to complete your application and sign your license. This must be done at least 3 days prior to your ceremony and no earlier than 60 days beforehand.

Although you can apply for a license in any Oregon county, after you’re married you’ll need to submit the license to the same county that issued it. The cost of a marriage license in Oregon ranges from $50 to $60.

In addition to your signed marriage license, you’ll need at least two witnesses (your photographer counts!) and an authorized officiant.

Aside from your wedding dress and attire, a rain-proof jacket or warm sweater is recommended since weather on the coast can be unpredictable. Hiking shoes or boots are usually a good idea for most locations – you can always change into different shoes for your ceremony. Some other fun ideas include a bottle of champagne and two glasses, a blanket or scarf, cute denim or leather jacket, and a clear umbrella in case of rainy weather.

Early fall between September to mid-October is considered to be one of the best times to visit the Oregon Coast, referred to by locals as the “second summer.” With temperatures hovering in the 60s and 70s, you’ll find that the days are sunnier and less windy during this season. Plus, the summer crowds have decreased and accommodations are less expensive.

Since the Oregon Coast is a popular place to escape for the weekend, the surrounding beaches and parks are often busy during the weekends, especially in the sunnier months. For that reason, weekday elopements are usually best. With that being said, if you prefer to elope on a weekend, we can get creative with locations off-the-beaten path to make it happen!

The best time of day to elope is around sunrise or sunset. The light during these times makes for the most beautiful photos. Many locations are less crowded during sunrise, but sunset is also an amazing time to watch the sunset into the Pacific Ocean!

FIFTY TREES PLANTED FOR EVERY SHOOT BOOKED

When I became a photographer I knew that I wanted to utilize my passion to make a positive impact in the world.  Throughout my career I have volunteered for non-profits but I want to do more.  I want to have a greater impact on our beautiful planet.  Nature is where I find my peace, joy and inspiration and I want my business to reflect my passion for the environment.    I am very excited about my partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects .  Eden reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests in Nepal, Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique and Kenya by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year.  Fifty trees are planted for every shoot booked with Naomi Levit Photography.

“Naomi is AMAZING! What a gift. We googled trying to find an Oregon elopement photographer and ultimately chose Naomi because of her passion for elopements and her LOVE for the outdoors. She FAR exceeded our expectations. The planning was easy and she was quick to respond to any questions. We were able to just be in the moment enjoying one another, almost forgetting she was even there. The memories she was able to capture of our love for one another in the blowing snow were absolutely breathtaking. Without words. We are so grateful for you Naomi-Thank you!”
Love, Tiffany + Joshua
