Katie and James met on a hiking trek in Iceland a couple years ago and discovered they lived in the same town in Colorado. Isn’t life funny sometimes? They’re both avid hikers so it seemed fitting they would choose Yosemite for their engagement photos. We hiked through the forest, climbed on boulders, rolled around in the dirt, and talked about life and how important experiences are. I know I’ve said this before, but one of my favorite aspects of adventure sessions is getting to know my clients on a deeper level and providing them with a life changing experience. That is my intention focusing on adventure elopements. Creating a sacred space for my couples to connect in a meaningful way with each other and the earth. Getting away from the day to day routine, traveling somewhere new, unplugging and connecting with the flow of nature.
Katie and James had never been to Yosemite before and never knew about Taft Point until I recommended it. It was incredible to see them experience it for the first time and feel the powerful energy that Yosemite radiates. Yosemite is a popular spot, but it sure is something special! They planned their whole trip around their engagement photos with me. They flew into San Francisco and enjoyed the city life for a couple days, then they stayed at Rush Creek Lodge, an incredible resort close to Yosemite valley to celebrate, and went on some of the most intense hikes that Yosemite offers. What a gift it is to share these moments with my clients. Thank you so much for sharing your love with me and making my life so special! When I take a step back and soar above my life, I can’t believe this is my career. It really is a blessing and I am just so stoked for all of the magical experiences ahead!
I’ll be heading to Oregon in June for summer/fall but will also be adventuring in California, so contact me if you’re planning an elopement this year! June and October are my favorite months to photograph adventure elopements and engagement sessions in Yosemite because of the lower temperatures and slimmer crowds. Contact me today to book your session!
After we hiked through the forest they changed outfits for a different vibe and we took epic engagement portraits cliffside overlooking El Capitan and Yosemite Valley. Taft Point is such a stunning location to get a birds eye view of the valley and watch the sun go down behind the mountains. It is one of my favorite places on this planet for adventure elopements and intimate weddings!
